Since many Indians worship multiple gods, creatures and objects in a variety of forms – including cows, plants and rivers – why be surprised if some of them turn their devotional attention to a kangaroo?

Not a live kangaroo, though, but a dustbin shaped like one.

The video above shows a group of women somewhere in India – Bihar, according to some – going through the entire ritual of worship. They sprinkled “holy” water on it, put vermilion streaks, placed flowers, and bowed. All this for a dustbin, which, of course, is a convenient receptacle for flowers.

One theory is that the worshippers mistook the creature depicted for a mouse, which is associated with the Hindu god Ganesha. Still, this could only happen in India.
