At Chicago’s ChicaGhosts 2017 Rubik’s Cube event, a new world record was created by a 23-year-old South Korean whiz kid. In a video (above), professional cuber (yes, it’s a thing) SeungBeom Cho solved the intimidating puzzle in a record time of 4.5 seconds.

Cho did it in his very first round of the day, beating his own personal best of 6.54 seconds. The previous record was set just over a month ago by the 15-year-old American Patrick Ponce, whose time was 4.69 seconds.

It all happened so fast that people around Cho took a few seconds to realise what had happened. As soon as they did, the other contestants spontaneously burst into applause, crowding around the grinning winner to take pictures and videos to capture the moment.
