“For as long as men and women have been making babies, they’ve been trying not to,” said Jonathan Eig, an American journalist and author. YouTube channel Vitamin Stree put their own spin on this statement for their video (above): “And for as long as Indians have been having sex, we’ve been pretending not to.”

But the makers of the video get right to the point: “We know you’re having sex! And we know you might not be ready to have children. So let’s say bye-bye to sanskars and talk about birth control...Because it’s important to stay safe, kids (and away from having to name your own).”

The result of this thinking is a video for young people on birth control, employing graphics, song and humour to get an important message across. Because not enough people are talking about it yet.
