What makes Masvan Vibhag High School, a school in Palghar, Maharashtra, with 668 students studying in classes between Class Five and Class Ten, special?

It's the location of an effort to get schools powered by the sun. The school has been fitted with a solar-powered audiovisual projector that will act as a teaching aid to help teachers integrate multimedia into their lectures.

The "Ek Shiksha" project in Palghar has been started on an experimental basis with 60 classes, and wants to expand to other schools in rural Maharashtra.
