Organised by the Sikh Cultural Society, it brings together Sikhs from gurudwara congregations across New York’s tri-state area.

In Canada, the annual parade is called the Khalsa Day Parade. Held in Surrey, it is believed to be the largest procession of Sikhs outside of India. Sunday's parade, the 18th annual Vaisakhi Parade, saw a record turnout of over three lakh people.

There were celebrations in New Zealand, Australia and UK too.

The Sikh community in Norway celebrated their third annual turban day on April 16. The video below of the Airport Express train shows people getting turbaned and feasting on Indian food.
