The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of an intense heat wave sweeping over eight states for the next few days. Among the hottest states is Telangana, where, according to this ANI video, eggs can now be cooked on the floor.

In the video above, a woman happily demonstrates the extent of the heat by making an omelette.

Like 2015, this year too India is in the grip of an intense heatwave which has killed at least 65 people so far. The largest number of deaths, 35 at least, are reported from Telangana.

The India Meteorological Department said in a statement that the state is likely to continue to suffer badly over the next few days, with temperatures expected to remain between 42 and 45 degrees Celsius.

This isn’t the first time people have experimented with cooking eggs in the heat. The one below is from Toronoto, Canada, 2011. It takes a while to cook though. As one of the little girls here says, "It's like watching a hair grow."
