After Jeev Milkha Singh and Arjun Atwal, Indian golf seems to be in very good hands.

Last Saturday, India's Anirban Lahiri was voted the prestigious "Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Year" for 2015. It caps a wonderful year for the 28-year old Lahiri who has taken Indian golf to new heights in the past year.

Arguably, Lahiri's best moment came in the elite PGA Championship in August, where he finished a historic fifth, the highest finish by an Indian professional golfer in a major (video above).

And not just that, he won the pre-tournament "Long Drive"contest at the same event with a 327-yard drive.

Lahiri's impressive rise also earned him a place in the 2015 Presidents' Cup squad, the first player from India to earn the honour. And it also attracted attention from none other than golf legend Tiger Woods. Woods spoke highly about Lahiri's capabilities. Obviously, the 28-year old's win at the Hero Indian Open earlier in the year made plenty of people sit up and take notice.
