Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh can't seem to get away from imitation games. A few years ago, the religious leader got into trouble for dressing up like Guru Gobind Singh, and last week, a comedian was arrested for imitating Ram Rahim. Now he's allegedly managed to offend sensibilities yet again, by allegedly dressing up as Vishnu in one of his many videos.

Several news organisations have reported that a Hindu organisation, variously referred to as the Hindu Student Federation and the All India Hindu Federation, has filed a complaint against Ram Rahim for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.

The New Indian Express reported a senior police officer in the Mohali district confirming that a complaint had been lodged at the Zirakpur police station and that investigation into the case has begun. Amar Ujala also said that the video of Ram Rahim allegedly imitating the Hindu god had gone viral, soon after the arrest of comedian Kiku Sharda, who had imitated the religious leader for a comedy program.

This wouldn't be the first time Ram Rahim has portrayed himself as larger-than-life. He has, after all, made two films in which he is explicitly referred to as the Messenger of God, with divine powers and a tendency to save the world. Vishnu also seems to be a common target of imitators, with two different magazines in recent times getting into trouble for turning the people featured on their covers into version of the Hindu God.
