Sony Six, the official broadcasters of the Euro 2016 in India, promoted the tournament with the tagline "Time to Switch". If you're an England fan, the time is ripe to switch – from football to cricket, that is, where an England team is actually...wait for it...doing rather well.

After a thrilling tie in the first One Day International and then a comfortable win for England in the second of their five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, the action shifted to The Oval in London for the fourth ODI after the third was washed out.

And Sri Lanka started off well after being put in to bat. Amidst several rain interruptions, they rode on a 76-ball 77 from youngster Kusal Mendis and a 72-ball 67 from captain Angelo Mathews to barrel along to 305/5.

England's target was adjusted to 308 in 42 overs but they could have probably chased down 350. Jason Roy clobbered 162, the second-highest individual score for England in ODI history after Robin Smith's unbeaten 167 in 1993, to chase down the target with almost two overs in hand and give England a series win. Joe Root gave him perfect company with a quickfire 65 off just 54 balls, cementing his credentials as one of the leading batsmen in all formats of the game.

But there was one moment of joy for Sri Lanka: Danushka Gunathilaka pulled off a stunning, one-handed, flying catch at gully to dismiss England captain Eoin Morgan during the chase.
