This is a story for the ages. Iceland, the smallest country to have ever qualified for a European Championship and with a population less than even Bandra, qualified for the pre-quarter stage of the Euro 2016 with a thrilling last-gasp goal against Austria in Saint-Denis on Wednesday.

Austria thought they would get at least a point from the match, but in the last minute of extra time, Iceland's Arnor Ingvi Traustason provided the best climax of the tournament as he slid past the Austrian goalkeeper Robert Almer to give his team a 2-1 victory and book a spot in the pre-quarters against England.

As soon as the winning goal went in, frenzied celebrations erupted. Almost the entire Iceland team, coaching staff and all, converged and celebrated. The 10,000 Iceland fans in the crowd, estimated to be a substantial portion of Iceland's total population of 333,000, erupted in joy and delight in a manner that was heart-warming to watch.

But the evening belong to a chap named Gudmundur Benediktsson. This Icelandic commentator could contain himself from shrieking in joy and excitement as Iceland scored the last goal. His impassioned commentary immediately went viral.

"Yes, yes, yes, we are winning this. We are in the last 16," he screamed, before starting to yell in delight. Listen to it below.

And for good measure, these were his reactions while doing that commentary:

England had better be careful. Few teams seem so emotionally invested in this tournament as Iceland. And when you have fans like Gudmundur Benediktsson cheering you on, nothing can seem impossible anymore.
