The "Djoker" might have got one step closer to winning the elusive French Open, the only Grand Slam he's never won, but he almost got himself disqualified from the tournament because of a moment of recklessness.

The World No. 1 Novak Djokovic won a tough game against Czech seventh seed Tomas Berdych 6-3, 7-5, 6-3 in the quarter-finals. But after Djokovic failed to convert a break point in the second game of the third set, he lost his cool and made to throw his racquet on the ground.

Unfortunately, Djokovic's aim was awry and he ended up throwing the racquet behind himself. The racquet flew towards the line umpire, who took evasive action. To his credit, Djokovic immediately put his hand and apologised.

Had the racquet even unwittingly hit the umpire, Djokovic would most certainly have been in danger of disqualification. ""I was lucky there," he admitted, after the match. "I apologised to the people that have been in this particular situation with me and that could have been hurt by my racquet."

The World No. 1 will face Austrian Dominic Thiem in the semi-finals.
