A fifth straight win is like a habit. Frenchman Matiouze Royer is a veteran of over 250 rounds of boxing. But that didn't deter India's 21st Century Haryana Hurricane. Vijender Singh took some twenty minutes to beat the stuffing out of Royer, winning his fifth bout in a row since turning professional.

The 30-year old Singh put in his most accomplished performance yet. Aware of Royer's experience, he spent the first round cautiously sizing up his opponent and leading with a few well-placed jabs. But once he got his bearings, Singh showed no mercy – an avalanche of punches descended upon Royer, even leaving him with a bloodied face from a cut above the left eye.

Royer tried to fight back but to no avail – a determined Singh marched on unrelentingly. Finally, Royer consulted with his doctors and the referee in the fifth round and conceded the fight, giving Singh yet another win on the professional circuit. All his five wins so far have been won by knockout or technical knockout. His next bout is on May 13, and he is also scheduled to travel to India later in the year.
