It was perhaps only a matter of time before mass culture adapted the dissenting voices of JNU's students to current music sensibilities.

The video above by Chandigarh based artist Dub Sharma is an electronic track mixed with excerpts from JNU Student Union president Kanhaiya Kumar's speech a day before his arrest. As the song reminds us, what Kumar demands "azadi" from are "poverty", "Sanghvad" "feudalism", "capitalism", "Brahmanism" and "Manuvad." The upbeat tempo kicks in at the end of Kumar's rousing sloganeering.

Another student of the JNU, Umar Khalid, who has been all but labelled a terrorist by media organisations, returned to the JNU campus on Sunday night. On his return, he delivered a rousing speech to his fellow students, and parts of it feature in the track below by MojoJojo alias Akshay Johar.

The videos credit Kumar and Khalid as featured artists.
